Add and Modify Transactions

Entries that had been erroneously made or left out, can be added or modified here.  The user must be able to recall the transaction or voucher number for which to add or make a modification.

How to add/modify a transaction

To add/modify a transaction you go to Accounts->GL Transactions->Add and Modify Transactions. A screen that looks as follows will be seen:

The screen has four tabs, i.e., Add transactions, View Accounts, Retrieve Transactions, View Transactions per Account. Click on the Retrieve Transactions tab. A screen that looks as follows will appear:

Note that you can also retrieve a transaction by selecting a voucher number in the "Voucher" box. That is if the voucher number was used during the transaction entry.

From the list of displayed transactions, click on the one that you want to modify. The variables for the selected transaction will be displayed with the previously entered data.

To modify the transaction, make the necessary changes and repeat this for all the corresponding double entry and click on the Save button.

Note that the modifications that is done should follow the double entry convention. So any changes to the debit entry must also be mirrored in the corresponding credit entry.

Above is the window showing that the option for posting cheque transaction is deactivated if no bank accounts have been defined.

Note that: Manually entered Cheque Transactions are automatically cleared. You do not have to go to through the Cheque Clearing.

Then click on the Close button to exit the menu.
